Whether you're planning to join us on one of our guided tours or exploring independently, getting to Sobieszewo is a breeze. Accessible by public transport and car, this hidden gem is waiting to be discovered. In this guide, we'll walk you through the best routes to reach Sobieszewo, so you can immerse yourself in its natural beauty with ease.
Getting to Sobieszewo by Bus
Sobieszewo is well-connected by several bus routes from various stops in Gdańsk. Here’s a detailed guide to help you navigate:
Bus Routes:
Bus Lines 112, 212, 186: These buses will take you from Gdańsk to Sobieszewo.
Bus Stops in Gdańsk:
Dworzec Główny 12
Brama Wyżynna
Śródmieście SKM
Żabi Kruk
Chmielna (on demand stop)
Akademia Muzyczna
You can catch any of these buses from the stops listed above. The journey to Sobieszewo typically takes between 30 to 50 minutes, depending on traffic conditions.
Specific Routes to Nature Reserves:
Ptasi Raj Nature Reserve: To reach "Ptasi Raj" Nature Reserve for one of our tours, take Bus 186 towards Górki Wschodnie. The bus will take you directly to the reserve; it’s the last stop on the route.
Mewia Łacha Nature Reserve: For a private tour of the "Mewia Łacha" Seagull Shoal, take Bus 112 or 212 and exit at Przystań 02. We'll meet you at the stop :)
Ticket Prices: A single bus ticket costs 4.80 PLN, however, if you need to get more than one bus then a 75-minute ticket for 6 PLN may be best. If you have any trouble do get in touch with us!
Peak Times: Peak times for public transportation in Gdańsk are usually during rush hours in the morning (around 7:00-9:00 am) and in the afternoon/evening (around 4:00-6:00 pm).
Plan your journey accordingly to avoid crowds and potential delays.
Helpful Tip: We recommend using the free app JakDojade. Simply enter your destination, and the app will find the best route for you, including any necessary connections. You can also purchase tickets via this app, making your journey even more convenient.
Getting to Sobieszewo by Car
If you prefer the flexibility of driving, Sobieszewo is easily accessible by car:
Route: From Gdańsk Central, head northeast on Aleja Jana Pawła II and continue onto Aleja Armii Krajowej. Follow signs for Sobieszewo/Zatoka Gdańska.
Travel Time: The journey by car typically takes around 20-40 minutes, depending on traffic conditions.
Parking: Once you arrive in Sobieszewo, there are a few designated car parks and a lot of street parking. Ptasi Raj has a rather big car park but in summer during peak times it can be full. On busy days we recommend using the church car park, the second exit on the roundabout, and then an immediate right turn after. This way you can do a sort of "park & ride" as the bus loop is next to the roundabout. You'll be looking for bus 186 heading to Górki Wschodnie, which departs approx every 25mins. Mewia Łacha doesn't have a designated car park however there are many parking spaces on Świbnieńska Street leading up to the forest entrance. Alt ernatively, we suggest doing the "park & ride" method mentioned above but with the bus no. 112 or 212, getting off at Przystań 02.
Helpful Tip: For a hassle-free car rental experience, we recommend using Traficar. Traficar is a convenient car-sharing service that allows you to rent cars by the minute, hour, or day. There are hundreds of vehicles available for pick-up in and around Gdańsk. You'll also find plenty of drop-off zones on Sobieszewo Island, including the centre of the island and near the Ptasi Raj nature reserve. To make your experience even better, we are happy to offer you a discount of PLN 30. Simply enter the code: uHakVwvrpR when registering, and the discount will appear in the Promotions tab in the app.
By following these guidelines, you can easily reach Sobieszewo and enjoy the beautiful nature reserves and walking tours we offer. If you have any trouble finding your way to us or need assistance with public transport, we're more than happy to help.
